“Zealot” will be published some time in 2012. The second rewrite is currently done, and I’m weighing the merits of self publishing versus traditional publishing.
The novel focuses on a devout Christian named Paul who is attending a contemporary “mega-church” in Southern California. Paul believes he has received a special assignment from God, and devotes himself to it. As we see him interpret his reality through the filter of Christianity, the Bible, and his own personal revelation, I hope to illustrate how this approach to life ultimately introduces danger and chaos into our society.
While there are several great books in the pantheon of “new” atheist non-fiction, the movement has seen a dearth of fiction. While I don’t hold fast to the hope that my novel will stand up next to the likes of Dawkins or Harris, I submit my novel to continue to influence the tide of culture that they have helped create.
